Okay, all you birdwatchers out there — I sighted a pair of these on the bank of a tidal river in Salem, Massachusetts over the weekend. Looks a lot like a Lesser Yellowlegs to me. Migrants on their way down the coast, perhaps delayed (or derailed) by Superstorm Sandy? Or something else? A Short-Billed Dowitcher, which I also wouldn’t expect around here?
